Hello Ishan,
With an SC rank of 4763 in NCHMCT JEE 2025, it is going to be near impossible to get admission in IHM Kolkata in the 1st round, as based on in previous years, the cutoff ranks for the SC category in top tier IHMs like Kolkata seem to close much earlier (most often under 1000–1500 in rank). However, you could possibly get in different rounds/spot rounds if there are empty seats.
Dear candidate, Birth Certificate is generally not mandatory for NEET or JEE counseling or college admission . However , it may be required as a supporting document in some cases - for example , to verify your date of birth or for age - related eligibility criteria. Most authorities ask for : - 10th or 12th mark sheets - Admit cards - Category Certificates - ID proof ( Aadhar , passport etc.)
Dear Candidate, With a JEE Main rank of 6,00,000 and 55 percentile, getting admission to B. Tech Computer Science in Delhi is very unlikely . Top state universities like GGSIPU have closing ranks for CSE well below your rank , and private colleges also have higher cutoffs . You may have better chances in other branches like Mechanical or Civil Engineering or by looking at colleges in other states with lower cutoffs .
With an EWS rank of 11,895 in JEE Mains 2025 , getting admission into a top NIT (like NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, etc.) through the General EWS category is quite difficult, especially in high-demand branches like CSE, ECE, or IT. These branches usually close under EWS rank 2,000–5,000 for top NITs.
However, you still have chances at some lower-tier NITs or less competitive branches such as:
NIT Mizoram
NIT Nagaland
NIT Meghalaya
NIT Arunachal Pradesh
NIT Puducherry (for home state candidates)
NIT Agartala
Hello Anushka,
With a JEE Main Paper II rank of 3300 in the OBC category, you have a good chance of getting admission in several reputed colleges offering B.Arch courses.
Key points:
Top government and private colleges usually have closing ranks for OBC candidates around or above your rank.
Institutes like National Institutes of Technology (NITs), some State Government colleges, and well-known private universities may offer seats at this rank.
Admission depends on factors like state quota, counseling rounds, and seat availability.
It is important to participate in the JoSAA counseling and state-level counseling processes to maximize your options.
You should explore colleges such as NITs with architecture programs, IIIT Hyderabad (if available), and prominent private universities offering B.Arch. Checking official counseling details and cutoffs each year will give clearer guidance.
I would recommend you to use the JEE Mains B.Arch College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
Dear Candidate , Yes , you can apply to IET Lucknow for B. Tech with your 87 % in Class 12 and CUET UG score even if you have not given JEE mains . While JEE main scores are usually preferred , IET also considers CUET UG scores for admission through UPTAC counselling , especially if seats remain after JEE candidates are admitted . Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria, have all necessary documents ready , and participate in the counselling process . Keep an eye on official dates for application and counseling, typically starting around May - June .
Hello Aspirant,
No, you cannot get admission to IET Lucknow through CUET-UG. IET Lucknow is a Government Engineering College, affiliated to AKTU, it is possible only through JEE Main scores, in general the admission is through UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling). Also, you have not given JEE Main; therefore, you cannot join IET Lucknow in regular B.Tech counseling process.
But you can check for other universities or colleges providing CUET-UG admissions in the undergraduate program especially with streams in science, commerce, and arts.
Hello,
Yes, you can apply to IET Lucknow without giving JEE Main if you have appeared in CUET UG and scored well.
With 87% in class 12, you meet the basic eligibility, but admission will depend on your CUET UG score and the counselling process through UPTAC . You need to register for UPTAC counselling, choose IET Lucknow, and participate in seat allotment.
Hope it helps !

Possible Options:
Mid-Tier and Lower-Tier NITs:
Some NITs, especially those in the mid-tier and lower-tier categories, might accept your rank for B.Tech in CSE with OBC-NCL reservation.
NITs with CSE programs at higher ranks:
NITs like NIT Meghalaya, NIT Puducherry, and NIT Hamirpur may have CSE openings with closing ranks in the range of your OBC-NCL rank.
State-Level Engineering Colleges in Uttar Pradesh:
Uttar Pradesh has several government engineering colleges that might be accessible with your rank. Consider MNNIT Allahabad and MMMUT Gorakhpur.
Private Engineering Colleges:
Many private engineering colleges accept JEE Main scores for admissions. Amity University, Galgotia University, and SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) are a few examples.

IIITs:
IIITs, such as IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Bhopal, and IIIT Nagpur, might be accessible with your rank, especially for OBC-NCL candidates.
Recommendations:
Check Cutoff Trends:
Analyze past JEE Main cutoff trends for NITs, IIITs, and state-level colleges to get a better understanding of your potential for admission.
Consider Lower-Tier NITs:
Don't hesitate to explore lower-tier NITs, as they can still provide a quality engineering education.
Explore Private Colleges:
Private engineering colleges can offer a good alternative if you're unable to secure a seat in a government institution.
Participate in State Counseling:
Participate in state-level engineering counseling conducted by Uttar Pradesh, as this can increase your chances of getting into a local college.
Important Note: Admission to engineering colleges is highly competitive, and the chances of getting into a specific college depend on factors like your rank, category, seat availability, and the college's cutoff trends.
